About This Blog
Thanks for visiting my blog! I am a high school English teacher in Boise, Idaho and have started this blog as a way to talk about my teaching experiences: successes, failures, wonderings, ideas, teaching approaches and philosophy, grumblings about education, excitement about education, assessment strategies, etc. My hope is that this will be a place for me to reflect on, make sense of, and gradually improve my teaching practices and pedagogy. I believe that good teaching should always be viewed as a framework, an approach malleable in light of changing times and changing students. Please feel free to share your thoughts with me. I would love nothing more than for this to be a site where other teachers can share experiences, gain new insights, provide expertise, and partner with me to improve education in light of our own individual scopes and situations. I am currently working toward my master's in Teaching English Language Arts at Boise State University. My research interests include: active learning writing instruction, English curriculum development, and successful implementation of formative assessment.
